Futsal Coaching Capital City Futsal LEVEL O Futsal COACHING COURSE.

Capital City Futsal are proud to present Mike Corringham senior Futsal coach from Community Soccer Association inc Sydney to conduct the 1st Futsal course in Wellington next weekend 1st -2nd of November. The course is based on FFA and the Australian High Performance Futsal coaching Accreditation.

Mike runs his own Futsal Acadamy and has had many years coaching at top club level in Sydney. His CV includes involved with the last two world cup New Zealand teams, as a selector and senior coach advisor, to NZFutsal.

Capital City has sponsored level 0 and level 1, Mike will also cover level 2 if time allows.

Level 0 includes a 3 hour interactive course appropriate for budding coaches introducing them to the basic principles and techniques of coaching, officiating, and playing Futsal.

The course contains practical and theoretical components with an emphasis on practical involvement by participants. On completion of the Futsal Level O course participants will receive a Level O Futsal Accreditation Certificate and information on upcoming Level 1 courses.

The course carries a small participant levy of $60.00.

The course is run on a fun, enjoyable basis and is also suitable for the school class environment.

Level O Futsal Coaches will be able to

  1. Have a working knowledge of Futsal, its rules and play.
  2. Be able to Introduce beginning players to the basics of Futsal.
  3. Plan a Futsal training session for beginners.
  4. Apply the rules of the sport to training sessions.
  5. An awareness of their responsibility as a coach.

Course Duration

3 Hours in total
Age Requirements - Participants must be at least 14 years of age on the date of the course.

LEVEL 1 COACHING COURSE
The Capital City Futsal - Futsal level 1 coaching course is designed to further enhance the knowledge and skills of current Futsal coaches.

It is a formal coaching accreditation course as recognised by the Australian Sports Commission and the Football Federation of Australia.

The Futsal level 1 Coaching Course is comprised of two main areas of learning, the General Principles of Coaching and the Sports Specific of Coaching Futsal. Level 1 General principles of coaching is common for all sports and is not required to be repeated by any person who holds a level 1 NCAS certificate in any other sport. The general principles component of the course, for those who need to undertake it, is approx. 1 hour in length and is incorporated into the 6 hour course.

The cost of the Level 1 Futsal Coaching course (including FFA accreditation) is $145.00 GST Inc.

Prerequisites (one or more of the following)
· Level 0 Futsal Coaching Certificate
· Previous Futsal/Soccer Coaching experience
Age Requirements - Candidates must be 16 years of age to undertake this course.

Level 1 Coaches will be able to

  1. Write a season plan for their team outlining appropriate skill learning, strategy and fitness development as they relate to the growth and development stage of their players.
  2. Teach the correct and basic skills and tactics of Futsal and ensure optimal learning for each player.
  3. Apply the rules of the sport to training sessions.

LEVEL 2 COACHING COURSE
A formal coaching accreditation course as recognised by the Australian Sports Commission as part of their National Coaching Accreditation Scheme (NCAS).

The Futsal level 2 Coaching Course is comprised of the same two main areas of learning as the level 1, the General Principles of Coaching (level 2) and the Sports Specific of Coaching Futsal (level 2). Level 2 General principles of coaching is common for all sports and is not required to be repeated by any person who holds a level 2 NCAS certificate in any other sport. The general principles component of the course, for those who need to undertake it, is comprised of considerably more hours than the level 1 and is generally conducted by the Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) or the ACT Coaching Centre. The sports specific component, which the FFA appointed National Futsal Coach conducts, is generally by invite only and only coaches with at least 1 season of representative coaching are considered as eligible. The Sports Specific component is also more demanding than the Level 1 in terms of time and costs (30hrs approx).

Please note that there is a considerable cost involved with the delivery of both Level 2 components. Whilst costs vary depending on venue requirements, course presenter fees and ASC accreditation fees, all attempts are made to minimize or subsidize costs. The Level 2 Futsal component is usually around $375.00 (GST INC).

Level 2 Coaches will be able to
1. Identify the needs of Futsal athletes / teams.
2. Prepare a yearly plan appropriate to the needs of the athlete / team.
3. Plan and prepare training sessions that complement the yearly plan.
4. Individualize training programs to meet the specific needs of Futsal athletes.
5. Apply sports science knowledge to the appropriate level.
6. Organize and conduct activities and training sessions to challenge and develop Futsal athletes and teams.
7. Use appropriate communication to meet the needs of individual Futsal athlete/teams and the situation.
8. Assess and monitor the development and well being of the Futsal athlete.
9. Analyze athlete performance and provide appropriate technical corrections.
10. Respond to unforeseen circumstances in training and competition, and adopt activities appropriately.
11. Conduct and analyze tests to assess ongoing physiological, technical and tactical development of the Futsal athlete, using specialist expertise and equipment where required.
12. Identify an action plan to change ineffective behaviors.
13. Analyze and implement appropriate modifications to the yearly plan.
14. Adapt training plans based in results of tests.
15. Change ineffective coaching behaviours.
